Due to the inclement weather, the Hellenic Writers' Group Meeting was rescheduled from Jan. 24 to Feb. 7, 2015.
The times are the same: 9:30 am for the poetry group, and 10:30 am for the Writers' group,
at the Hellenic Center in Bethesda, MD.

This is a new group that is forming, and will meet monthly. We invite all Greeks and Greek American poets and wannabe poets to attend. Our goal is to provide a supportive and inspiring environment for poets, with the end result of publishing an Anthology of poetry by our local poets. This will be a first for us, and hopefully the beginning of many, many poems to come!
Poetry can take many forms, with traditional poems that rhyme, to short poems, like haiku, to free verse. It is up to each poet how they want to express themselves. Bring your poems to share and read out loud.

This group began a year ago and meets monthly at the Hellenic Center. We strive to create a learning environment, with many meetings that include classes on the craft of writing, as well as writing exercises. Writers can share works that they have written. Some of these works and poems will show up here on the blog.
All meetings are conducted in English.
